The defending champion Leicester FC hosted this seasons premier league table topper at the king power stadium on Saturday the 14th of January 2017, in a game where many would describe the last league season’s champions as a shadow of their former self.

It was a one-sided game as the visitors took the host by surprise with Marcos Alonso the Spanish professional player who started his career with Real Madrid scored a brace to put Chelsea in lead in the first half of the game making him the third Chelsea defender to score twice in a game.

Isn’t it ironic that the last time these two titans clashed on the 15th October 2016 which was also on a Saturday Chelsea won the game by the exact same 3 goals margin. Diego Costa, Eden Hazzard and Victor Moses all got their names on the score sheet back in October.

The absence of Diego Costa who has been rumoured to be considering a move to China for £30 million was not so much felt by the Chelsea team as it was business as usual for Antonio Conto’s men as Pedro Rodriguez scored the third to seal the 3 points for Chelsea.
